DEC. 20 - Rio de Janeiro. From its famous beaches to its iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio radiates an air of exuberance that is hard to find anywhere else. Make the scene on trendy Ipanema or take a cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain and enjoy the amazing views.
DEC. 21 - Cabo Frio. The small city of Cabo Frio feels like it’s just been discovered ... an unexplored rainforest, islands with pristine beaches, and endless rivers..

DEC. 23 - Salvador. The oldest and most historic city in Brazil is renowned for its deeply rooted Afro-Brazilian culture. With an amazing number of magnificent baroque colonial-style churches, Salvador has been nicknamed the ‘Black Rome.’ Tour bright, multi-colored houses, cobbled streets and aromatic markets.
DEC. 24 - Maceio. Historic Maceió showcases pastel-colored colonial houses, a 19th-century cathedral and the Théo Brandao Museum of Anthropology and Folklore.
DEC. 25 - Recife. Visit Recife and nearby Olinda and step back in time along narrow, winding streets amid meticulously restored homes, churches and lovely plazas. Admire the scenic views from the Malakoff Tower and Olinda’s hilltop plaza. Visit the old Dutch Fort, the Jewish Historic Archive, and shop for lovely traditional handicrafts in clay, wood leather, and straw.

DEC. 29 - Devil's Island. French Guiana is best known for the infamous penal colony to which convicts and undesirables were deported from France. Today, lush, green landscape and tropical foliage has grown over the old prison buildings and softened their aspect from forbidding to quaint.

DEC. 31 - Kingstown. Known as the "City of Arches" because of the many volcanic stone archways throughout the downtown area, Kingstown was first settled by the French and ceded to the British. For truly authentic island goods, visit the outdoor waterfront market and the large produce market.
JAN. 1 - Pointe-a-Pitre. Pointe-à-Pitre is the largest city of Guadeloupe. Whether visiting the spectacular waterfalls in the jungle of Basse-Terre, taking a scenic hike to the top of La Grande Soufrière volcano or sampling local rum on a distillery tour, you will find a diverse array of activities to enjoy. Pointe-à-Pitre offers luxury items imported from France as well as handicrafts at open-air markets throughout the city.
JAN. 2 - Gustavia. One of the Caribbean’s true gems, St. Barts is where Riviera chic meets Caribbean cool. Day-trippers come from nearby islands for the duty-free shopping, excellent dining and to lounge on the soft, white sands in a secluded palm-fringed cove.
JAN. 3 - Tortola. Spend a glorious day swimming at famed Cane Bay Garden Beach, hike in the island’s rainforest or enjoy a scenic drive around this lush island. Swim with dolphins, go sea kayaking or head over to Virgin Gorda and climb down to the famous Baths for a day of swimming and exploring this natural phenomenon.
JAN. 4 - La Romana. Discover the luxurious resort town of La Romana with its sugar-white sand beaches, and pristine turquoise water. Explore Altos de Chavon, the beautiful and authentically recreated Mediterranean Village clinging to the cliff above La Romana.
